Who are we?
Roger McInerney
Roger McInerney is principal of Creative inTension. Roger was
a director of the consulting firm Best Practices for 9 years prior
to establishing Creative inTension in 2001.
Roger’s background includes time as a professional tennis
coach, wine consultant, Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force,
Geology and Physics teacher and Management Consultant.
He is widely recognised as an outstanding facilitator, in a wide
range of contexts, and as a person who can really help groups
and individuals in working through challenging problems and situations.
Warren "Wally" Sowter
Warren has a diverse background in leadership, management and
business. His leadership experience includes supervisory and officer
posts
in the military; a period as a Regional Manager in the retail
banking sector; and leader roles in community groups. Business
experience includes Regional Sales Leadership; Business Development;
and regional marketing. His technical background includes automotive
and plant maintenance in vehicle workshops, construction environments
and peace-keeping operations.
Warren is an accomplished facilitator and coach. He is highly
regarded for his ability to independently facilitate groups as
diverse as
community action meetings, workplace teams, EBA and consultative
committees, and senior management teams. His coaching skills have
been honed through many years of professional and personal coaching
of individuals and groups including: senior managers, supervisors,
CEOs and skill competitors in international competitions. Warren
coached a Gold medallist and a Silver medallist in International
Youth Skill Olympics.
Always a learner, Warren is currently researching the management
of change for his doctoral thesis. He believes it is possible to ‘predict’,
to some extent, the potential success of change initiatives in
a business through analysis of ‘values alignment’.
John Lund
John used to ‘do’ school teaching in the late seventies
and early eighties. He then went on to ‘do’ restaurateur.
In another career change John then used to train people in the
Royal Australian Air Force about how to be leaders, although most
only wanted to learn about
how to do leadership.
He then used to do Corporate Services Director, but couldn’t become a
Public Servant.
So, with the values, beliefs and capabilities of what he used
to do and who with now who he is, what he now believes he does
is, talk to people in organisations about what they are doing well
and what they could do differently in the future to make their
workplaces more effective.
Sheona Beach
Sheona is an excellent communicator.
She sees employees as individuals with their own values, beliefs
and personal lives – all combining to create a living, breathing
organisation. She challenges and stretches individuals and teams
to show them how to improve their goals and change their futures.
Sheona has qualifications in Business Administration, Training
and Assessment Systems and Frontline Management. She is currently
working on a Master Degree of Leadership in Workplace Development.
Sheona is an NLP Master Practitioner, Master Facilitator, Accredited
Emotional Intelligence Assessor, Accredited Myers Briggs (MBTI)
Consultant, and an experienced corporate trainer and facilitator.
She has worked within, consulted to and trained people in the
mining industry since 1995. She understands the issues and work
demands associated with the industry.
Her background includes time as a television presenter, radio
announcer, communications advisor and business skills trainer.
She owns her own training company and powers the success of the
organisation. She has a reputation for being passionate and direct.
Anita Roubicek
Anita has worked as a Learning and Development consultant for
the past 11 years.
She has designed, implemented and delivered practical training
solutions needs for various organisations, notably Qantas, Westpac
Banking Corporation and Zurich Financial Services.
During this time Anita specialised in the areas of Change Management,
Leadership Development, Virtual Teams and Coaching.
Anita's background includes 12 years with the National Australia
Bank. Her roles ranged from Service Officer, Business Development
Manager, Branch/Service Manager of a large Commercial branch to
Senior Management Training Consultant.
The experience with the National Australia Bank gives Anita a
strong business outcome focus as well as ensuring all learning
and development interventions align with organisational goals,
vision and strategy. Anita has found this experience is crucial
to the success of any learning initiative.
During her time with the Learning & Development department
of National Australia Bank, Anita became licensed to facilitate
externally accredited Stress Management and Leadership Development
programmes. These are based around neuropsychology principles.
Anita conducted these programmes with senior managers nationally.
Anita has accreditation and certification in a range of diagnostic
tools that support organisational change and individual development.
Anita’s great strengths and interest lie in designing and
facilitating Change Programmes.
She works equally well on a small or large group level to assist
with self management and change issues within an organisation.
Anita continues to work with clients to support and incorporate
strategic organisational goals with the needs of the individual
in an ever-changing environment.
Robert H Scott
Bob has extensive experience within human resources as manager,
developer and planner. He also has a very strong background, and
interest, in human learning and behaviour.
Bob has worked in the private and public sector, including positions
as senior HR manager in the public sector, officer in the RAAF
and extensive work consulting in the private sector.
Having held a variety of management positions in different realms
of the community and business world, Bob has developed good liaison
and advocacy skills. He has well developed "people" skills
and the ability to provide effective leadership to a diverse range
of personalities and professions. He has been described as an energetic,
highly efficient "self starter" who inspires confidence.
Bob has attained a Bachelor of Arts (Education), as well as a
Master of Business (Human Resource Management).
Blazena McInerney
Blazena has worked as a teacher and sport and recreation officer
before stepping out of the workforce to have two children.
On returning she has worked in customer service in Westpac and
Optus.
She has experienced an organisation from start up as she was
involved in Optus in its formative years. She enjoyed dealing
with customers and fellow staff members, dealing with their
enquiries and solving problems.
She is interested in people and how they communicate and interact.
She also has an interest in personal development which results
in a particular focus on self management and change. She is accredited
in MBTI and is currently studying for a BA in Philosophy. She finds
yoga provides an excellent conduit for understanding the self from
both a personal and professional level.
Blazena is the resource person within the group and will be your
first point of contact for general enquiries.
